I met Deborah McColl in September 2001 when her daughter Caitlin was enrolled in my Kindergarten Class at the Vallican Whole School. The Vallican Whole is a teacher/parent cooperative where parents are invited to participate in classroom activities as their time and talent allow. Deborah offered to come in on a weekly basis and share her knowledge and skills of the creative process by presenting the children with a variety of creative projects.
I welcomed Deborah's involvement in the class. She was skillful in her ability to simplify a fairly complex process to meet the level of interest and ability of the children. She was enthusiastic and yet patient - necessary attributes for anyone working with young children.
I admire Deborah's dedicated effort and tenacity to incorporate her love of the creative process into a means of livelihood. Her talent and skill are inspiration to those who know her. I wish her every success in her future endeavors.
